No Begging! No Waiting! JUST BUILDING! Uhuru Health Food Cooperative "Just Building" Weekly Campaign report Week Ending June 12, 1998 RAFFLE TICKET SALES GAINING MOMENTUM! The UHFC has kicked off Sales of it's Breaking Ground Raffle tickets nationally! Oakland, Philly, Chicago, Witchita, Baltimore, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Plant City and Atlanta! As sales gain momentum, remember we have 3,000 tickets to sell. Repeat... 3000 tickets to sell. The task is awesome, and we've got the people -power and the will power to see it through. Here is an explanation of the prizes and a few tips for pusing sales. Prizes: Prizes will be the same all over the country with the exception of third prize. If outside Florida, the suite of electronics will be shipped to first prize winner; a cashier's check will be mailed to second prize winner to eat at the restaurant of his her choosing; and a cashier's check will be mailed to third prize winner in lieu of the UHFC membership. Pushing Sales and Campaign. Make the campaign VISIBLE & FUN!! Each area should consider constructing a thermometer of plywood, plastic tuvbing and red paint (or poster board and markers). The thermometer should reflect your tickts sales goal and at meetings, should be used to reflect where you are in achieving your goal. This will help rally and challenge your base to do the very best they can. At meeting a decided number of envelopes can be pasted under chairs. One envelope could offer a free ticket to the person is sitting in the lucky seat. It could read: You are callenged to sell./buy 10 tickets to contribute to the building of the first black community owned strore in St. Petersburg, Florida. the individaul can accept or refuse the challenge. You all can come up with other creative ways to make the campagin fun! We are open to any and all indeas from the different areas. We strongly urge that the campagin be taken on in the most serious way. We congradulate Oakland APSC for their stance around the campaign. They not only acknowledged receipt of the materials but have created their own leaflet to push campaign forward! We are calling on all the other areas to follow suit and take on the campaign. REMEMBER: - Your sales are being announced and publicized weekly! The African community in St. Petersburg is well aware of what's happening. They know a black community owned store is coming soon, and that people across the country are raising funds to see it open!

- The indivdual wihth most tickets sold each week (nationally) is entitled to a free raffle ticket.
